Port jaringan adalah salah satu bagian penting yang berjalan pada protokol jaringan. Port ini berfungsi sebagai pintu atau jalur koneksi yang bisa sebagai identitas dari aplikasi apa yang berjalan pada protokol tersebut. Port jaringan biasanya dituangkan dalam nomor-nomor yang telah distandarkan secara internasional. Tetapi untuk alasan tertentu, kita bisa mengubah port yang akan kita gunakan pada suatu aplikasi sesuai kebutuhan kita.

Port ini berjalan pada aplikasi yang berbasis FTP (file transfer protokol). contoh aplikasi ftp client yang sering digunakan adalah filezila, coffecup dan lain-lain. port ini konsentrasi pada transaksi data. - Port 21
Port ini juga berjalan pada aplikasi yang berbasis FTP, baik ftp server maupun ftp client. Port ini cenderung berperan sebagai dialog koneksi pada ftp. - Port 22
Berjalan pada aplikasi SSH, secure shel adalah metode remote device yang berjalan pada prottokol TCP/IP dengan enkripsi yang lebih aman. - Port 25
Port yang digunakan pada server mail transfer protokol (SMTP). Dimana port ini menjadi jalur transfer mail pada alamat yang dituju. - Port 80
Port ini adalah port default yang berjalan pada layanan http, port ini biasa ditemui pada browser browser pada umumnya, seperti mozila firefox, google chrome, safari, opera dan lain-lain. - Port 143
Port yang berperan menangani jalur masuk email pada servis mail yang bertype Imap. Pada port ini bisa ditemui pada setingan aplikasi email client seperti thundebird, microsoft outlook dan lain-lain. - Port 3389
Adalah port yang berjalan pada koneksi remote desktop, baik pada jaringan lokal maupun jaringan luar. Salah satu aplikasi yang menggunakan port ini adalah Remote Desktop Connection pada windows.
